Her methodology, Brennan Check-In, cultivates more present, collaborative and self-sufficient artists who are agents of their own well-being.

She is a Designated Linklater Teacher, Certified Yoga Instructor, Certified Thai Bodyworker, Certified MELT Hand & Foot Instructor, a member of VASTA, the Dramatists Guild & AEA. She holds an MFA from the University of Virginia.

Brennan Check-In (BCI) is a new way of working for the artist that incorporates Linklater Voicework, Yoga, Thai Bodywork, fascial release, and generative exercises. In addition to OCU, BCI has had workshops at UNC-Chapel Hill, McCarter Theatre Center, HBMG's National Winter Playwrights Retreat, NYC, and was featured at the 3rd Annual Statera Conference for Gender Parity in the Arts.

Kate is a leader that naturally and instinctively builds people up

and opens them to their truer selves.

- Melissa Firlit, Director

Working on Lord of the Flies felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity.  Kate's vision was so innovative, the rehearsal space was always safe, while the cast was still pushed to explore and grow as much as possible.  I hope someday to be as daring, inventive, and creative of an artist as Kate is.

- Adelaide, BFA & Assistant Director

Kate's class made me more aware of my body and made me a more curious artist. I questioned myself and my world in that class. I also discovered the importance of valuing and understanding my emotions. This was also the first time I got Shakespeare in my bones which was a big turning point for my classical work.
